Home On the Open Road

We were young and wild, racing through the night,
On that motorcycle, holding you so tight.
Leather jackets, windswept hair, we didn’t care,
The world was ours to conquer, we were quite the pair.

Now the city lights are fading, fading, memories cascading, cascading.
Echoes of our laughter in the wind,
But time keeps on moving, and hearts keep on bruising,
Yet I still remember everything.

Ghosts of the open road, you and me,
Chasing dreams and gasoline, we were free,
But now you’re just a shadow in my mind, shadow in my mind
Riding on without you, leaving you behind, leaving you behind.

Sunsets on the highway, my arms around your waist,
Every mile a memory, not a second to waste.
Now the roads are empty, silence in the night,
But I can hear your whisper every time I ride.

Now the city lights are fading, fading. memories cascading, cascading.
Echoes of our laughter in the wind,
But time keeps on moving, hearts keep on bruising,
Yet I still remember everything.

Ghosts of the open road, you and me,
Chasing dreams and gasoline, we were free,
But now you’re just a shadow in my mind,
Riding on without you, leaving you behind.

Every turn, every twist, and the exact moment that we kissed,
Fading like the morning mist,
But the engine’s roar, it keeps me close to you,
A love that time just couldn’t undo.

Ghosts of the open road, you and me,
Chasing dreams and gasoline, we were free,
But now you’re just a shadow in my mind, shadow in my mind.
Riding on without you, leaving you behind, behind.

So I ride these roads alone, with the memories we’ve sewn,
The open road will always be my home,
Even though you’re gone, your spirit’s in the breeze,
Riding on forever, in my heart you’ll never leave.
