My Long Timeless Friend

Do you remember the Summer nights beneath the old oak tree?

The one that we stumbled upon when we were three.
Barefoot on the grass, and we felt so free.

Amazed by all the bumble bee’s.

Summertime breeze, and our hearts were running wild
Chasing the fireflies, just like a child.
Cicadas screaming their earthly tune
Days melt into nights too soon.

And soon the leaves will fall, it happens, the seasons change
Though the memories we made will always remain
In every fading sunset, every gust of wind
I’ll remember these nights with you always my timeless friend.
