Radical Self Acceptance
Olly the Octopus lived in a bustling underwater town, always busy with his eight arms. He could juggle seashells, weave seaweed mats, and play coral drums all at once. The other sea creatures marveled at his skills, but Olly often felt overwhelmed and unsure of himself.
One day, Olly met a wise old turtle named Tessa. She noticed Olly’s frantic pace and asked, “Why are you always so busy, Olly?”
Olly sighed, “I have eight arms, Tessa. I feel like I should be doing more, but it never feels enough.”
Tessa smiled kindly. “Having eight arms doesn’t mean you have to do everything at once. It’s about using them to do what you love and accepting yourself for who you are.”
Olly thought about this as he swam home. He realized he enjoyed playing the coral drums most. So, he decided to focus on his drumming, letting go of the pressure to multitask all the time.
The fish in town noticed a change in Olly. He seemed happier and more relaxed. Olly learned to love himself, not just for his abilities but for who he was inside. He found joy in accepting and loving himself, just as Tessa had taught him.
